We are honored just to be nominated

Baltimore, Maryland — December 3, 2011<br />
In good times and in tough economic times across all industries as has been the case now for many years it is great to be appreciated. As a company we strive to do our best within the limits of good business practices to provide our employees with as much support as we reasonably can. We honor commitment, technical excellence, loyalty and excellence in customer service. It’s probably the reason we still employ today after 10 years of Government Service and total of 14 years in business a significant number of employees who have been with us from the start. Amazing - we actually have military veterans who chose RTGX for their second careers that are now retiring from the work force after service to our nation in uniform and as civilian employees of RTGX.<br />
<br />
So imagine our thoughts when one of our own nominates RTGX for recognition due to their pride in our support for their Military Service? Honored – RTGX has been nominated for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The award recognizes employers for exceptional support of their employees who serve in the Guard Reserve.<br />
<br />
We are happy to do our part to support those who sacrifice much to serve our nation and protect our freedoms and support our customers with their skills and commitment to excellence. <br />

ebay selects RTGX partner to power its VMware virtual server infrastructure

Baltimore, Maryland — October 5, 2011<br />
We are excited about our relationship with the unique and leading edge storage solutions from Nimbus Data systems, Inc. and elated about the selection of Nimbus S-Class flash memory by eBay. <br />
<br />
eBay is the world’s largest online marketplace. eBay has deployed more than 100 terabytes of Nimbus S-Class flash memory to power its VMware virtual server infrastructure. The scale of the Nimbus deployment at eBay, which started with one system and expanded to 12 systems in less than one year, makes it among the world’s largest consolidated deployments of network-attached flash storage for virtualization today.<br />
<br />
The selection of Nimbus came after eBay carefully evaluated its existing hard disk-based storage systems, flash-based caching solutions, and tiered storage architectures. eBay required a storage solution with tight integration with VMware virtual infrastructure, iSCSI connectivity over 10 Gigabit Ethernet, ease of administration, and inline deduplication to reduce storage capacity requirements. In the end, eBay was most attracted to the performance, efficiency, simplicity, and comprehensive SAN and NAS software capabilities of the Nimbus Sustainable Storage™ platform. The Nimbus solution delivered near line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet iSCSI performance to the VMware hosts while consuming 78 percent less energy and 50 percent less rackspace than conventional disk-based solutions.<br />
<br />
RTGX provides virtualization and cloud solutions architecture consulting. The Nimbus S-Class Flash memory is being used by RTGX in the development of blazing large data processing solutions for customers needing maximized performance metrics. RTGX is currently contracted to develop Hadoop based solutions that leverage our proprietary data parsing engine and framework to quickly parse through all manner of data formats.

Data storage startups to watch: Nimbus Data Systems Inc.

Baltimore, Maryland — September 22, 2011<br />
Nimbus Data Systems is the oldest startup on this list with a 2006 launch data, but its switch to an all-solid-state drive (SSD) storage system in 2010 makes the vendor stand out. CEO Tom Isakovich said his goal is to replace disk as a primary storage tier. "We're showing flash is mainstream," he said. "Cost is no longer a barrier to adoption. We say there should be two storage tiers. Use flash for primary storage, and SATA for everything else." The Nimbus S-class storage platform scales from 2.5 TB to 250 TB of flash storage; supportsEthernet, Fibre Channel (FC) and InfiniBand connectivity; and has a HALO operating system with thin provisioning, deduplication and replication. Nimbus makes its own SSDs, enabling it to keep costs down; systems are priced at $24,995 for 2.5 TB and $99,995 for 10 TB. Nimbus recently received validation from eBay, which has 100 TB of Nimbus S-class storage platform installed. Nimbus' biggest challenge could be its own success; will it prompt larger data storage companies to make their own SSDs and bring down costs?<br />

RTGX set to launch XNOX Blue mobile computing backup and encryption solution

Baltimore, Maryland — August 1, 2011
Today’s computing environment involves an ever increasing amount of mobile devices with ever increasing amounts of potentially sensitive customer, proprietary, financial, healthcare and other private data being stored on them. High-level executives, military personnel, physicians, researchers and corporate financiers must travel around the globe to meet the demands of their customers and mission. Protecting data on laptops and tablets from a "WikiLeaks moment" has increasing in significance in a world that continues to spawn new ways to breach data security.

* One in 10 laptops will eventually be stolen according to the FBI
* Fifteen percent of laptops will fail in their first year
* Disk failures account for 50 percent of laptop failures
* One in four laptops will fail by their fourth year

According to some recent studies, about 90% of corporate data resides on laptops and an ever-increasing amount of data is migrating to mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets and other devices. With more employees using mobile computing devices for work, keeping an organization’s data secure from competitors seeking a competitive advantage, or from corporate or industrial espionage and hackers who might want retribution from being fired can only be accomplished through smart, proactive policy and protective measures.

XNOX Blue® from RTGX is designed to protect valuable information on mobile devices such as laptops with data backup, recovery, and data shredding if laptops are lost or stolen. XNOX Blue also protects desktops that are remotely distributed. XNOX Blue also secures data deduplication, and is available as a hosted solution or in public cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft Windows Azure or Amazon Web Services.

The Army thanks RTGX for 100% cyber mission support excellence!

Baltimore, Maryland — May 19, 2011<br />
RTGX has employees deployed across the United States and Europe. While we enjoy visiting all of our locations, our Hawaii operations are tough to beat in terms of sheer beauty and great weather. RTGX supports a number of Army and other DoD centric missions in Hawaii, primarily centered on cyber assurance and network management.<br />
<br />
The Department of the Army this week bestowed two certificates of appreciation to RTGX’s Network Engineers based out of our Hawaii Army Transportation Command location. The RTGX dynamic duo exceeded expectations in the architecture and implementation of the USARCYBER HBSS McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) for the Army's NIPR and SIPR networks. Army senior leadership highlights that for the past two years RTGX and its Cyber duo "has surpassed all expectations” and "maintained the information assurance program by assessing and mitigating information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVA) as reflected by the brigade's 100% compliance status." Army leadership also touted RTGX's ability to quickly scale to meet mission needs and our agile responsiveness.<br />
For over five years, RTGX has been fortunate to continue to serve the Army worldwide as a prime contractor for cyber assurance, virtualization, software maintenance and enterprise network management. RTGX performs similar, highly regarded cyber and network centric consulting for the United States Air Force worldwide and RTGX was recently tapped to architect a secure cloud solution for the Department of Defense. The recognition by the Army is RTGX's 3rd so far this year from Army customers and when combined with the recent kudos from the United States Air Force and the Department of Justice we are feeling pretty good as we celebrate our 10 years of service to the Federal Government and 14 years total in the IT business.

We are at located at the UMBC Research Park — a major center for Cyber focused research and technology and cyber entrepreneurial innovation. RTGX is located on the second floor of the building. The location offered RTGX and its creative team a blank slate from which to design a modern and light filled facility that utilized soothing colors, extensive use of interior glass walls and doors. The RTGX led design team’s mandate was to create a space that integrated corporate operations while providing space for our Cyber Training facility and Cyber Innovation Suite. RTGX also built a secure operating facilities and optioned additional expansion space to accommodate growth.

RTGX implemented the use of curved walls that mimick the interior curvature of the building and created an Aquarium like effect in the new Aqua Spazzio conference rooms using a new aquarium design from Spacearium. The conference rooms include an 8 foot fresh water aquarium that floats in front of a wall of glass suspended from the ceiling.

In keeping with the green theme of the building, RTGX implemented renewable materials wherever possible and extended our green approach to include the use of virtualization to conserve space and energy. RTGX also implemented motion sensor lighting in offices and all common areas. When a room is not in use the lights automatically turn off and come back on only when they sense motion in the room.
RTGX announces Suite of Cyber Monitoring and Forensic Analytic Tools

Columbia, Maryland — April 5, 2011
RTGX announces the first line of cyber solutions from our new Cyber Xccelerator. The RTGX Cyber Xccelerator is part of RTGX's new UMBC Research Park facilities and it will house innovative cyber research and product development by emerging companies and thinkers.

The first line of solutions to emerge from the RTGX Cyber Xcellerator is designed to meet middle market needs for Cyber Forensic and Cyber Monitoring capabilities. RTGX's work with Department of Defense and Law Enforcement customers is valuable experience and we use lessons learned and fuse them into ideas that turn into new cyber solutions.

The continuous advancements in networks, wireless and mobile computing present many advantages but also many threats to Federal, Law Enforcement and Commercial customers interested in protecting valuable information assets but also in monitoring and detection of possible threats to information, data privacy, corporate and personal privacy, infrastructure and intellectual property.

When combined with expert cyber security engineering, analysis and cyber program management, the CyberX StillWaters suite of tools and services is a powerful discovery asset that can thwart malicious computer and internet based threats or can be used to help identify perpetrators and provide valuable evidence to law enforcement and other adjudicators of cyber related attacks and crimes. Customers needing more capability or custom integration options need look no further — our team of developers can customize our tools for any mission purpose.

CyberX StillWaters Suite – Still waters run deep – Trust but verify

StillWaters - PKA Packet Keyword Analytics Tool
Some of the most famous cases of cyber related crime and espionage have been detected by tracking how words were used and transmitted in daily electronic communications. Our packet keyword analytic software tool allows for packet inspection and monitoring using key words as triggers. Key words detected will cause the packets to be set aside for further analysis and action. Continuous monitoring and keyword expansion capabilities can be used for pattern detection and expansion of network based communications monitoring.

StillWaters - SSA Screen Shot Activity Tool
Intellectual property loss through network based exploitation acts is a fact of life. It takes one rogue employee to steal valuable corporate information assets or to provide stolen information assets to a competitor or new employer. This year saw the conviction of former employees of a business enterprise that went to work for a new upstart in the same line of business in another state. Prior to leaving their employer, one of them set up a forwarding scheme that allowed incoming new customer communications to be forwarded to the servers of their new employer and their by allowing the new employer to poach the potential new customers to the benefit of the new upstart. This went on for months and only an accidental interaction provided the clues that led to a comprehensive analysis of the network based communications and related hardware that led to the discovery of the cyber crime.

StillWaters-SSA can be used as a stand-alone tool to capture and monitor the screens of intended monitoring targets without detection. When combined with StillWaters-PKA and expert analysis and monitoring the combined solution is a powerful prevention measure against cyber crime. Screen shots can also be configured to occur on pre-configured intervals and on keyword hits.

StillWaters - CTA Communications Trending and Analytics Tool.
The ability to analyze trends in data and communications on a network are key tools for cyber attack prevention and detection. Major financial institutions and corporations utilize tools to analyze and develop trend analysis in order to predict or stop cyber related crimes and threats of information and financial assets. StillWaters-CTA provides the data visualization component that can aid in reporting and spotting trends or suspicious activity.

RTGX Customer U.S. TRANSCOM Operates Despite Enemy Attacks

Columbia, Maryland — February 23, 2011
For over five years, Ross Technologies Inc. (RTGX) has been a sought after provider of information technology solutions world wide for the U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM). RTGX employees maintain the network operations and Cyber defenses for U.S. Transcom worldwide. RTGX is deployed from Hawaii to the Netherlands and points in between in support of TRANSCOM mission networks and related infrastructure. RTGX is responsible for thousands of servers, desktops, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, video teleconference systems, government issued cell phones and supports technology insertion and continuous modernization of this mission critical network.

Our vital support for TRANSCOM only begins with our worldwide network services, we also have trained thousands of Military and Civilian personnel all over the world in the use of the Defense Personal Property System. The system is at the center of how military equipment and military household goods are transported worldwide in support of our military families and warriors. RTGX provided critical program management support and was responsible for the independent requirements verification and testing.

In addition RTGX provided the logistics, graphic, communications support and web development that provided the constant outreach needed for the eventual implementation of the new DPS system. RTGX also provide logistics, organizational and seminar support for TRANSCOM industry conferences and symposiums throughout the United States.

U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) suffers more cyber attacks than any other combatant command, according to its commander, Air Force Gen. Duncan McNabb.

This is partly because, unlike other commands, TRANSCOM relies on unclassified and commercial networks to deliver supplies and passengers all over the world, McNabb said Feb. 7 at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

In 2010, there were 33,326 "computer network events against TRANSCOM," according to the four-star's briefing.

In addition to cyber attacks, TRANSCOM is the target of piracy and other supply-route attacks, a particular vulnerability for operations in Afghanistan, a landlocked country.

Countries north of Afghanistan allow nonlethal cargo to transit what's called the Northern Distribution Network, while Pakistan allows supplies to arrive in the port of Karachi and then travel on to Afghanistan. However, Pakistan does not allow any uniformed U.S. military presence and therefore shipments must be handled by contractors.

TRANSCOM conducts 90 percent of its operations by surface transportation, leaving 10 percent carried out by airlift. However, in Afghanistan, 30 percent is delivered by air, McNabb said. Air transport is 10 times more expensive than surface delivery, he said.

Sensitive, high-value products travel by air, according to McNabb, who said he is confident about the transit options available. In case something unforeseen happens, such as the floods in Pakistan, the coup in Kyrgyzstan or the volcano in Iceland, TRANSCOM has enough options to fall back on, he said.

But McNabb said he does worry about evolving threats and their ability to destabilize the U.S. military's movement of cargo and forces.

In response to a question about the growing menace of shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles in Afghanistan, McNabb said, "Even though it's not a threat today, it could be tonight or it could be tomorrow."

Therefore, TRANSCOM tracks intelligence on man-portable air-defense systems very carefully, he said.

After helicopters, strategic airlift aircraft, such as the Air Force's C-17s and C-130s, are the primary target, he said. Last year, 120 aircraft were shot at and 15 were hit.

Overall, there were 1,100 attacks in 2010 against TRANSCOM, McNabb said. This includes improvised explosive device attacks.

TRANSCOM, located at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., has $56 billion in assets and includes 145,500 people, according to McNabb's briefing.
