Ross Technologies, Inc. (RTGX) is awarded a Department of Defense (DoD) contract for multiple VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 software licenses, as well as VMware Virtual Center 2 management server. As part of the RTGX VirtualX solution set, RTGX architected a virtual solution based on VMware which consolidated server ratios, lowered power, space, and cooling requirements, and provided a significant cost savings to the customer. Through an initial proof-of-concept, RTGX was able to achieve instant performance gains over the existing physical based architecture using VMware ESX server. RTGX coupled VMware with SAN products from industry leading EMC Corporation to provide a high-performance centralized data store for all virtual machines.
