The Joint Program Management Office Household Goods Systems (JPMO-HHGS), with the support of Ross Technologies, Inc. (RTGX), has been "on the road" both physically and virtually providing Personal Property Shipping Offices (PPSOs) with the tools they need to be successful while operating in a Defense Personal Property System (DPS) shipping world.
Classroom Training
Armed with a curriculum covering all DPS modules at various experience levels, PPSOs are able to choose a five-day hands-on training schedule customized to their staff's educational needs. The three-tiered approach ranges from Beginner to Intermediate to Advanced Level. Training courses include (but are not limited to) Counseling, Shipment Management, Quality Assurance, Invoicing, Claims, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, and DPS Analytics. The JPMO coordinates with SDDC Personal Property to provide Business Rules training as part of the overall training package. The on-site training has been very successful, with an average of twenty PPSO students in attendance during any given session. The upcoming classroom training schedule includes European and Stateside locations, and can be found on the DPS website, www.move.mil, under "What's New". Webinar Training
In addition to on-site training, JPMO-HHGS continues to expand its educational reach, providing monthly virtual, web-based training to highlight specific DPS functionalities. Each Branch of Service (BOS) is invited to have PPSO staff members attend remotely via their office workstation. With the recent introduction of Personally Procured Move (PPM) functionality into DPS, the webinar training team has focused its efforts on reaching as many PPSO offices as possible via virtual training, in tandem with its on-site training schedule, as it strives to keep offices educated on the latest DPS technology updates. By doing so, JPMO-HHGS hopes to provide the Service Member with the most important resource they can have when they experience a personal property move; that being a well-informed and prepared PPSO DPS advisor. |
